WEST COAST LIVING

About Richmond

Richmond occupies the islands of the Fraser River delta immediately south of Vancouver and is one of Metro Vancouver’s most distinctive urban markets. Richmond City Centre has grown around the Canada Line, Richmond Centre and major commercial corridors, while neighbourhoods such as Steveston, Broadmoor, Terra Nova, West Cambie, Seafair and East Richmond offer very different residential environments.

Steveston is one of the city’s best-known areas, combining a historic fishing-village setting with waterfront trails, restaurants and newer housing. Central Richmond contains a large supply of condominiums and townhomes with rapid-transit access, while many western and southern neighbourhoods contain detached homes on established streets.

Richmond is extremely well connected to Vancouver International Airport and downtown Vancouver through the Canada Line. The city’s flat terrain supports cycling, and large dike and waterfront trail systems border much of the municipality. Buyers should consider floodplain context, aircraft noise, redevelopment plans and school catchments when comparing areas.
